title: Assignment 1: Should we post photographs and videos of bad behaviour on the internet?
date: Monday, March 8, 2010
time:3:30 AM
Posting photographs and videos of bad behaviour on the internet allows the whole world to see the humiliating things that a person did. But is it a good idea to do that? Does this mean that we are invading other people's privacy?

We should not post photographs or videos of bad behaviour on the internet as this invades their privacy. A picture may not suggest what it shows as there are different point of views that we look at. There was a video on two ladies which were of different races arguing on the bus that my friend took it and posted it on Facebook. The two ladies did not realise it and kept arguing just because the Malay women’s daughter accidentally swiped her hair on to the Chinese lady’s hand which made her irritated by that and started arguing. When they figured out that my friend was taking a video of them, they immediately shouted at my friend and demand him to delete that video. This shows that people dislike being posted in videos or photographs as they think that this invades their privacy.

Although posting pictures or videos of bad behaviour on the internet humiliates the person in them, it teaches them a lesson and not repeats the same mistake again. We have no intention of humiliating the person but just to show people the bad behaviours. We could mosaic the person’s face and so the person would be less humiliating.

Therefore, posting photographs or videos of bad behaviour is not a so great idea as it is an invasion of other people’s privacy.
